Foodie Feature: Brandon Head

Brandon Head
Title: Senior Food Scientist
What I Do at Voyage: I develop new and innovative ways to bring the taste of delicious foods with us to the future, and I work primarily on our Cacao-Free Chocolate.
What a Typical Day at Work Looks Like For Me: My typical day is spent experimenting with different arrays of ingredients to produce our classic comfort foods with a new spin. I work alongside a collaborative and intelligent team that combines scientific discovery with culinary techniques. We research, test, cook, and taste everyday.
My Favorite Part of Working at Voyage: I really enjoy the atmosphere and the freedom of working alongside such a wonderful team. It’s one thing to work with people who are able to inspire you to reach new heights, but it’s just as important to work with a team that also encourages you to keep going. It feels a lot less lonely than other lab environments.
The Moment I Knew We Were on to Something Special: It felt really special during my interview process. It’s hard to describe but there were several moments during the process where I felt how genuine everyone at Voyage is. And once we met in person, it was really nice to feel that same energy.
Product(s) I’m Most Excited About: I am really excited for all of the initial products — the replacements for chocolate, peanut butter, and cold brew coffee!
My Most Controversial/Unique Food Opinion: I think Chicago-style pizza with olives and onions is pretty great.
