Role Summary

The Maintenance Technician is key to Voyage Foods’ manufacturing operation. This role will work closely with our Maintenance Engineer and Production manager to constantly improve machine function, carry out maintenance schedules, and help us achieve our manufacturing targets. He/she must consistently demonstrate the highest degree of integrity, ethical conduct, and trustworthiness. The ideal candidate is experienced in machine maintenance, general maintenance activities, and food safety best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Maintenance Engineer to repair and maintain facilities equipment in order to support operations uptime and improve reliability of our systems

• Maintain compliance with all safety, food safety, and security standards
  Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on all equipment

• Perform troubleshooting on equipment and escalate to leadership and/or vendors as needed for additional troubleshooting

• Document all work as appropriate

• Lead root cause analysis of major downtime events

• Act as a resource for technical issues and participate in root cause analysis

• Perform building project work as assigned

• Additional responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications

• Functional knowledge of standard manufacturing practices including, but not limited to: general safety, lock-out tag-out, forklift safety, ARC Flash and electrostatic discharge awareness

• Electrical skills in troubleshooting and repairing 480/230 v 3ph.120 v and 24v systems with the ability to read and understand schematics, blue prints and PLC ladder logic

• Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting

• Must possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills

• Associate Degree or other technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent and relevant job experience

Preferred Experience

• Being bilingual (Spanish/English) is a highly preferred skill for the position

• Maintenance tech in a food manufacturing facility
