Role Summary

Creative development of recipes using our products that showcase how they can be utilized at home, in a food service environment, as an ingredient in products for large and small businesses, etc. Process and execute all sample requests for team members, potential customers, investors. Maintain the stock of ingredients and packaging materials. Collaborate with the R&D team on ad hoc projects. Clean and organize the work area and the lab in general.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with R&D, Sales and Marketing, Office Manager, Shipping and Receiving and Operations to ship quality samples of our current and upcoming product line.

  • Creative recipe development featuring our product line and relevant to our mission and vision for the future of food.

  • Meticulously prepare items for shipping ensuring they arrive in perfect condition paying attention to optimal temperatures and shipping speed.

  • Improve the cooking or baking process of current recipes

  • Research and propose packing procedures and processes that ensure careful and timely delivery anywhere in the world.

  • Create a concise inventory management system to ensure ingredients for samples are always in stock

  • Create a clear and repeatable par program of samples to ensure samples are always available

  • Improve the documentation of recipes, SOPs, Prep Guides, and build sheets for all products for consistent and scalable production of samples for any occasion.

  • Evaluate products on the bench top & in their finished state for taste, presentation, texture and report findings to the team

  • Support shelf-life & stress tests on new recipes & products in development for deliverability or operational viability as well as presentation

  • Clean and sanitize your work area and tools before and after use

  • Assist other team members in R&D as needed (cleaning equipment, packaging samples or ingredients, organizing and tidying up the lab as needed)


  • 2+ years as pastry chef or the equivalent experience creating new recipes, testing new products, packaging or plating foods.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a startup environment - you have worked in a fast-paced environment where a sense of urgency is important as well as quality of deliverables

  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures and guidelines

  • Must be strong in excel, google suite products, process and recipe documentation

  • Strong knowledge, experience and understanding of tools, techniques, measurements, ingredients, equipment, small wares and cooking required for baked goods

  • Strong passion for food and a strong code of conduct as a chef

  • Project management experience

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to self-initiate and manage multiple project tasks independently to meet business objectives and to support the individuals of the workgroup
